Types of T8 LED Tubes: Corresponding Installation

• Type A – Plug-and-Play(with Ballast): Easiest to install. These tubes work with compatible fluorescent ballasts—just remove the old tube and insert the new one. Perfect for fast retrofits, make sure your ballasts are compatible.
• Type B – Ballast Bypass (without Ballast): Wired directly to line voltage. These tubes require removing the ballast and possibly replacing sockets (e.g., switching to non-shunted for single-ended tubes). More installation effort, but greater long-term reliability and efficiency.
• Single-Ended(with or without Ballast): Start as plug-and-play with compatible ballasts. When the ballast fails, simply bypass it without replacing the tube. Great flexibility for phased upgrades.

Choosing the Right LED Tubes for Your Space

Selecting the correct LED tube comes down to fixture compatibility, installation type, and lighting solution:

• Ballast Compatibility: Need a quick swap? Go Type A. Looking for max efficiency? Choose Type B.
• End Type: Confirm if your fixture supports single-ended or double-ended wiring.
• Lighting solution: If the lighting time is less than 8 hours per day, we suggest the economic series(low-priced), the warranty period is 2 years; If the lighting time is no more than 15 hours per day, we suggest the engineering series(cost-effective), the warranty period is 3 years.
